Shapes and patterns and the breaking up of these principles are the focus of the works of conceptual artist and painter Albrecht Wild. His "shaped canvases" play with basic shapes such as circles, which, taken apart and reassembled, produce forms that capture and guide the gaze - only to lead it into nothingness. This irritating and hypnotic effect occurs in both his minimalist and figurative works.
