Mel Ramos

Mel Ramos belongs to the first generation of American pop artists. His surreal combination of women and giant sized products, such as hamburgers and bottles of coke, brought him to the attention of the art world in the 1960's. The constant of his art has been through the decades the female nude. His work includes other series, such as his art history paintings, in which he combines his characteristic style with that of past masters as well as with Greek mythology in his Galatea-series.
