Hein Spellmann

The works by Berlin-based artist Hein Spellmann (born 1962 in Bassum, Lower Saxony) combine photography with object art. Sections of building facades on three-dimensional bodies allow a concentrated view of details, materials and structures of urban architecture. A tilted window, a reflection or a glimpse of the interior break up the neutrality of photography and architecture.

Projekt #16: Hein Spellmann
For the project space, Hein Spellmann combines his three-dimensional objects with large-format photographs that he has taken on excursions through urban spaces. He plays with perspectives, repetitions, vertical and horizontal lines. Steel, glass and stone alternate with blue skies and reflections. Together they provide a different view of the urban jungle.
