Once again we will be guests in beautiful Castle Sulzburg near Freiburg in southwestern Germany. We will present contemporary art by various artists in historic rooms - a contrast worth seeing. With works by: Peter Anton, Thomas Baumgärtel, Werner Berges, Dirk Brömmel, Michael Craig-Martin, Robert Indiana, Julian Opie, Mel Ramos, Regine Schumann and Thitz.






Alex Katz: Black Dress

"Black Dress" is the title of nine new silk screens by Alex Katz with an edition size of 35 prints each. In an introduction for the catalogue published for this edition Calvin Klein wrote: "His portraits ... are extremely expressive and perfectly capture the essence of his subjects. Marc Dittrich and Konrad Winter

"Woven homes" is the name of Marc Dittrich's series of sculptures and sculptural pictures made out of photographs of high rising buildings. Konrad Winter paints with car lacquer on aluminium using photographs as a basis. Up close, his paintings appear abstract or - as he calls it - "camouflaged"; from further away, however, the scene can be recognized.

Three artists in three rooms: Dirk Brömmel (photography), Julian Opie (lenticulars and silk screens with hand painting) and Charlotte Trossbach (painting). The title of the exhibition (unterwegs = on the go/way, underway) refers to the motif that all three have in common in the works displayed.






Katharina Dietlinger - Berg und Tal

Landschaftsbilder sind ein klassisches Genre, das Katharina Dietlinger zeitgenössisch umsetzt. 2011 schloss sie ihr Studium an der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Nürnberg ab. Zur Zeit hat sie eine Ausstellung im Egon Schiele Art Centrum in Krummau, Tschechien.






Thitz

Since 1985 Thitz has been using bags in his art. They refer to the cities that are his main theme. In this show two series of works are presented: his well-known metropoles and his newer hybdrid cities and landscapes.

Mariona Eichmann's work has received a lot of attention in recent years. Her devotion to details and at the same time her simplification of scenes makes her work so intriguing. Barbara Storck-Brundrett: new works

"Instant painting - large, contemporary, abstract and colorful". This generic desciption is what Barbara Storck-Brundrett's tube promises: out of the tube and onto the wall. As well as tubes, this exhibition includes bizarre candies, sushi and "pillows". Finissage on March 1st with catalogue presentation.
